When you are in Cubao and you want to go to Makati by public transportation, or anywhere in the south, do not immediately hop in on a bus or slip your magnetic card in the card reader at the MRT station if you do not want to be late on your appointment. You better check first the traffic condition in EDSA and compare it with the situation at the MRT station.
Due to high volume of people wanting to avoid traffic in EDSA thinking that MRT is better than buses, the MRT as an alternative mode of transportation has now become comparable to that of those plying the streets. Long queues, malfunctioning trains, are among the discomforts of using tha MRT. Not to mention the proliferation of pickpockets and very impatient passengers.
